EQ2-Permafrost DKP System Explanation

The Point System

Earning DKP
Earning it is easy. Show up and stay till the end. You get 2 DKP per hour and, depending on the difficulty, 1-3 more if it was a first time kill.
Spending DKP
When a box drops and bidding is opened, the raid will be given some information: 1)The item being bid on. 2) The person to send their bid (via TELL) to. The person who bids the most, wins the item. In the event of a tie, those individuals will /ran 100. The highest roll wins the item. One last note, if you're the only person to bid on the item, you only get charged 5 points or the value of your bid (whichever is lower).
How the Winner is Determined
Grievance will be using the Vickrey Auction system of bidding.. This means the person who bids the most points wins, but pays the value of the second highest bidder's bid. Now while this means the winner gets to hang on to a few extra points, it also gives the leadership a better gauge on what the raid force is really willing to spend on an item. Knowing the true value of an item to the raid tells the leadership where they need to focus the raid effort.
Example: The raid goes into Raid Zone X. They confront Mr. Big`n`Nasty, kill him and then pops the lock on the lovely Exquisite Chest and finds an Uber Mage Wand of Mob Vaporizing. Mages A, B, C, and D all go to bid on the item drooling the whole time. They send their bids to the designated loot officer via tell.
Mage A bids 30 points
Mage B bids 100 points
Mage C bids 5 points (cheap ass)
Mage D bids 45 points
Mage B wins the item with a bid of 100 points, but pays Mage D's bid of 45 points.
ALT Loot
If an item is not bid on by any Mains in the Raid, the item will go to open bidding for ALT Loot.
a. Bidding will start at 5 plat and can go up from there.
i. Bids will increase in intervals of plat. (no gold, silver, or copper piece bid increases)
ii. When the bidding gets too high for an individual, they will announce so in Raid Chat by saying “out”. This will help speed up the process.
iii. Monies received for ALT Loot bids will go to Guild Bank 4 and will be included in the total distributed out via the Guild Split.
Once every 2 months, the guild will take a scheduled Raid Night and do an ALT Loot Raid. (These will be targets currently in our scheduled Raid Rotation.)
i. During these raids, all loot will be /ran 1000 for ALTS ONLY.
ii. DKP WILL be awarded for these raids. iii. Monies gained will go to Guild Bank 4 for the above reason.
If you are asked by the Raid Leader to play a specific alt during a raid, you will be allowed to bid on both your usual Main and the Alt you've been requested to play. If you've been asked to play a certain toon, it's because we are in need of that specific class and an undergeared toon is really no good to anyone. So we will make all efforts possible to keep our raid force as strong as possible in whatever configuration it may be in.
*Disclaimer* This system is subject to change at any time based on the needs of the guild and the direction the guild leader establishes for the guild.
